When I Reached 15 Mins Late In Engineering Exam And Got Highest Marks

In the first year of my engineering, I had internal exam in morning. I started on time from my house and boarded local bus after taking the auto. On the way, the bus broke down and driver asked all of us to get down. He started fixing the issue. I asked him to return my ticket money, he denied and asked me along with other people to wait. 15 mins passed in seconds. I asked him again, but he was not willing to return our ticket money. As I was running late for my exam so decided to take auto, and not to wait more for bus to be fixed. Autos were coming but I was unable to find a seat because autos were already full and whichever have had one-two seats that were filled quickly by people who were traveling in my bus.

I waited, waited, 1 auto, 2 autos, 3 autos....6 to 7 autos moved in front of me and, I couldn't find seat. 15 more minutes gone. Soon, I somehow found a tiny place on the back of one auto where I could just stand on my feet. The auto started but went stopping at multiple places on the way. I was praying God to take me on time for my exam. I requested driver to take fast as I have exam but nothing worked out and I reached at college gate 10 mins late from the exam start time. I was running from college gate towards my block with my maximum capacity. I was running short of breath still I was running. Everyone was looking at me in surprise while I was running.

As soon as I reached outside exam room, I was stopped by my college director there, he was on round. He asked 'Why are you late?' I couldn't answer as I was getting back to normal. A few seconds later, I said, 'Sir, bus met with an accident.' He said, 'Try to start little early from home on the exam day.' I nodded. He said, 'Best of luck.' I quickly took my seat and started writing the exam. I had 15 mins less from my competition for that exam.

When result came, I got highest marks. I couldn't believe how it happened but yes it was there. A lesson for me that if start is bad, it doesn't mean you can't hit the climb.
